OUTDOOR MOTION DETECTORS
Wireless outdoor motion detectors are not part of the burglar alarm but are made to “stand-alone” to announce that someone is approaching.
If an outdoor motion detector is located at the end of the driveway, approaching vehicles will annunciate a “chime” inside the house. If you have a “voice chip” on your keypad, the keypad can verbally say “driveway alert”.
Simultaneously, that same motion detector can also turn on certain lights. (See Lighting Control)
DOORBELL TO TELEPHONE INTERCOM
A doorbell to telephone intercom enables you to answer the front door from any phone in the house, including cordless phones. When the doorbell is pressed, the phones would ring with a special tone indicating that someone is at the door, as opposed to a normal ring tone. This means that you can answer the front door while gardening in the rear of the house or while sitting on a lounge chair outside by the pool.
CAMERA DISPLAY ON SMARTPHONE
If you have an outdoor camera pointed at your front door, you can set the parameters whether you wish to be notified. Within the entire view of the camera, you can set-up a section of the field to “changing pixels” of the specified field to view. Since “Total Connect” is event driven, you can receive a text to go look at the front door camera.
The applications for event driven video are endless. Imagine that you are at work and out-of-town relatives unexpectedly show up at your door. With video motion detection from the camera, you can receive a text alert. From your smart phone, you can disarm the alarm system and remotely unlock the door. (See Lock Control)
