Outdoor Protection System

Outdoor protection devices are normally used in conjunction with video surveillance to activate recording equipment or alert security personnel.

Outdoor Photo Cell Beams: Outdoor infrared beams detect intruders at the perimeter of the business property. The individual beams are "stacked" so that multiple beams must be interrupted to activate the notification signal. This eliminates false alarms due to small animals or falling leaves that would only interrupt one beam.
Driveway Sensors: A driveway probe is buried near the side of a driveway to detect approaching vehicles. When a large metal object drives up the driveway, the unit can notify security personnel, activate a VCR, or turn on lights. By its very nature, a driveway sensor will ignore people, animals, or extreme weather conditions.
Outdoor Motion Detectors: Outdoor motion detectors will detect persons and animals, as well as vehicles. When motion detectors are mounted outdoors, they require a higher degree of immunity to environmental disturbances. They must be able to ignore wind, rain, snow, fog, and falling leaves. However, they still must be sensitive enough to detect people.
